This place deserves negative stores. DO NOT SIGN A LEASE HERE! Believe what you are reading in these reviews. Moved in Fall of 2014 when it was still Williamsburg at the Wabash. Not perfect, but the management seemed to actually try to help. I always got a timely response from the property manager and they made a decent effort to solve issues. Anyway, fast forward a year or so, new management, new front desk workers, new corny name. Their silly attempt at marketing to undergrads. The new management is AWFUL. First off, try to call the leasing office and get a manager on the phone, I guarantee you they will be in a 'meeting' regardless of what time you call. The front desk is staffed by undergrads: all seem to be trained to not connect current residents with managers. Every time I called about a noise complaint or anything, they say "we'll make a note of it". They don't note anything. It's to get residents off the phone! So then I ask to speak to a manager because I've had the same issue with blaring music in my building for months. The kid on the phone says, "why do you wanna talk to a manager? What about? What's your name? Your apartment?" I really had to press him to put me on the phone with a manager. That should NEVER be a problem, and I know the managers tell these kids NOT to bother them with anything. So anyway, he tells me to hold on, relays whatever info to the managers or pretends to, then gets back on and tells me they're in a meeting (which he said the last time i called a few weeks ago). No offer from them to call me back when the meeting is over or anything. That's NOT normal. That's NOT how you run a business. I knew he was lying so I went up there, sure enough, both managers' doors are wide open, no meeting going on apparently or their doors would be closed. I ask the kid at the desk to let me speak to a manager, again, he asks my name and apt number (that way the manager can decide if they feel like being bothered with you or not). He goes into her office, closes the door, is gone for several moments, then comes out and closes the door, I guess to make it seem like she's busy when she's not. Then he asks another manager, who is fixing herself some food if she can meet with me and she says she's booked all day and she can do it tomorrow (mind you, it's noon at that time and they are open til 7pm. So you mean to tell me you can't speak to a resident at any point during that day?? Guarantee those 'meetings' are not with residents with complaints about this raggedy establishment). So I make an appointment to meet with her the next day. Honestly, I don't expect much to come of it because they make it clear, as you can tell from these reviews, that they don't give a crap unless you're about to sign a lease. Residents pay good money, in some cases, too much money, to live here. I shouldn't have to physically walk up to the office just to speak to a manager. We should be treated with courtesy and respect but they treat residents like you work for them or something. That's the biggest con of living here, other cons: Nasty dog owners. Whole courtyard is filled with dog crap because people are disgusting. I walk my dog on the outskirts of the building. Maintenance: Nice guys but will enter your apt (per management orders most likely) with little to no notice sometimes. Utilities: if your unit has baseboard heating, winter electric will be around 200-300/mo just for a one bedroom. Graduating and lease ends this summer, otherwise I would CERTAINLY be moving. I implore you, do not do business with these unprofessional people, they will ignore you and then probably try to screw you over in some manner.
