Dewees Island, a hidden gem just a 15-20 minute ferry ride away from Isle of Palms, is a haven for those seeking serenity and seclusion. With only residential properties, a nature preserve, and accessible only by private ferry or boat, this barrier island ensures ultimate privacy and exclusivity for its residents. The "Dewees Breeze" and "Dewees Islander" passenger-only ferries run between the Isle of Palms and Dewees Island. Do note that the ferry is private transportation for the owners, their families and guests, and service providers. The ferry fee is included in the rental rate. Everyone who rides the ferry must be pre-registered by an owner in order to gain entry to the island. The primary mode of transportation once on Dewees is electric cars and golf carts- ensuring a sustainable lifestyle that harmonizes with the natural beauty of Dewees. The use of gas-powered vehicles is prohibited, with exceptions for some work vehicles used for construction and maintenance. A two seater golf cart with a cargo back is included with the rental!
A short 5-minute golf cart ride from the ferry takes you to 387 Pelican Flight Drive. Nestled on the beach, down a wooded private driveway, this brand new construction, elevated house stands 19ft high, providing breathtaking views while safeguarding against sea and storm damage. This semi-enclosed entry level is where you can store and charge the golf cart, play a game of ping pong, relax and listen to music on the Sonos speakers, take an outdoor shower, and store all of your beach gear and bikes! You will have access to plenty of beach gear that comes with the home including a canoe, kayak, stand up paddle board, beach chairs, and two bikes!
Ascend the stairs to reach the first living floor. You'll arrive at the spacious utility and laundry room and then continue on to the first of the two en suite guest bedrooms. Through the adjoining hallway, you'll reach the second en suite guest bedroom. Both bedrooms feature king size beds, ceiling fans, luxurious en suite bathrooms and ocean views. The bathrooms for both suites are designed with open walk-in showers, adorned with rain shower heads for a touch of luxury. The bathroom for the second guest bedroom can also be accessed from the hallway and utilized for general use.

Equipped with a 79” Samsung smart TV, the media room features a comfortable sofa, two chairs, and cube cushions for leisurely lounging. A central focal point of the great room is the two-sided Hoxter horizontal wood fireplace, shared with the primary suite's patio. The chef's kitchen is a culinary haven, featuring dual Wolf wall convection ovens, a Wolf sealer for storage and sous vide preparation, and a 48” Wolf rangetop with 4 burners and a large French cooktop surface. Flanking the rangetop are a built-in sous vide water bath and teppanaki/griddle, complemented by a 60” high-powered hood. The large pantry which is directly off of the kitchen is the perfect place to house the standup refrigerator/freezer, chest freezer, ice maker, and wine storage for approximately 250 bottles, accommodating various formats. Small countertop appliances, such as a Cuisinart, mixer, composter, and ice cream maker, find their organized space. For added convenience, a networked printer is also available.
The outdoor kitchen/dining area, screened in for comfort, opens to both the great room and kitchen.
