Ok stopping point, not a long term home. Clean and safe, but tackily furnished, all in Landlord Beige. Treated us well, moving in and out. Husband and I lived here for a year and a few months. The whole complex was mostly quiet, safe and problem free. No sign of pests or infestations. Heat always worked well, good windows, appliances worked ok. Exceptions are the AC unit is not powerful enough for the space, and the overall plumbing system had problems. The whole apartment was done up in Landlord Beige. Our carpet was newly installed, but was already seeming to wear out after our short time there. Our "newly refinished" countertop was actually just panted with some kind of enamel that was dented/chipped with regular wear and tear after a year. All fixtures are either very old and in need of love (I scraped grease off the cabinet doors with my fingernail, and covered the "damage" with a stain pen), or from the contractor section at Home Depot; no taste, just the cheapest stuff. Appliances are older, break down often, and are not energy efficient, and you'll be footing that electrical bill. Also, you're only supposed to use incandescent bulbs. The energy cost trade off is that the building pays for the heat and water. However, we lived on the top floor, and had our heat off and windows open for much of the winter, to keep the apartment cool enough to sleep; it's blistering in the summer, no shade trees. The property manager was straightforward with his requirements when we moved in, when our lease lapsed month-to-month, and when we moved out. He's a little stiff, but as long as you're prompt and polite, so is he. Would recommend this apartment for someone clean and quiet on a low budget looking for someplace to be semi-temporarily, but wouldn't raise a family here or anything.
